Hopefully this time will go smoothly. :-)<BR/><BR/>I am sorry you were disappointed in this one. I didn't go into it expecting too much, I admit, but I ended up really liking it. I did have a little problem with the ending--a bit too over the top, but the next two books in the series have more than made up for it. You are right about the mystery. It sort of just happens around Theda as she goes about her business. I don't mind so much, perhaps I've grown used to it with books like McCall Smith's #1 Ladies' Detective Agency series that rare much more about the characters than the mysteries themselves. Unlike you, I really took to the characters in the novel and all their eccentricities. For that reason alone, I imagine you wouldn't care for the other books in the series. At least you tried!
